Production Blog: Re-Edit

Image
Hey guys! My group and I have finished re-shooting and now the next step is to really look into editing. Editing is what will bring this project together. Effects, sounds, transitions, filters and more can be added.  My group and I did basic editing to put the clips together. Then, they were reviewed. I asked my friend to review the final product. I also asked some of my family members. They all really enjoyed the video. However, they did mention how some scenes could have smoother transitions. This was not a problem. This feedback was much appreciated, and all my group and I would do next, was fix these small editing details. This way, our final product is the best it can be.  After this, my group and I sat down together to really check the video and double checked that it is the best it can be. Going through all the scenes took some time. But, when this was done, the final task was really to its fullest potential.  I think this project went very well and I gained ...

Production Blog: Re-Shooting

Hey guys! It’s Lindsay and I am so excited that my group mates and I are nearing the end of our final task! It was so fun to film and work on. I accomplished many things over the past weeks. My group and I have all worked so hard and I am so proud of all the work my group and I got through! Although I thought the video was done, I did notice some things that needed to be worked on. One of them being one of the beach scenes that was filmed. The quality of the audio did not quite work out. This was okay, because my group and I still had time to fix the scene. I was debating on doing a voiceover, but that wasn’t going to be necessary. Instead, I talked to my group mates and they decided the best thing was to reshoot the last, final scene. This took several attempts. There are some bloopers left over from the shooting. I enjoyed filming it because it was super funny and on the beach. My group and I got to go on the beach as well.  After this was over, my group mates and I review...

Production Blog: Wrapping It All Up!

Image
Hey guys! I am so excited, because my group and I are just about finished with our final task. I am so proud of the work I have done, as well as my group mates. After all the filming was gathered, it was uploaded onto the editing software. From there, the clips were cut, the lighting was fixed, and the clips combined together. Then, the titles had to be added. This was a strategic step. The font and placement had to be right. Then, the reviewing started. My group mates and I reviewed the clips and found barely any mishaps. The only thing that needed to be fixed was the timing and transition between the door scene and car scene. The title had to be placed in a better spot as well. I watched the final product a couple more times after this. The editing that took place during this project was a lot more than previous projects. I am overall very proud of my group and I. The final task turned out great. I really enjoyed the experience and lessons I learned throughout this project. This...

Production Blog: Finishing Up Filming!

Image
Hey guys! It's Lindsay and I have made even more progress on my group and I's final task. Filming had already took place at Mela's house, the car and the store. In the store, the scene where the main character selects an item off the shelf was filmed. Just today, my group and I filmed the last bit of the scenes. At the restaurant. As well as at the beach. At the restaurant, it took several tries to get the perfect clip. Many times some of the cast members forgot lines. Other times, it just needed to be filmed once more. The most difficult part this time around was definitely trying to not laugh during the scenes, or remembering all the correct lines. This process did get better from the first time my group and I filmed. One thing I have realized since working on this specific project is that being in this film is very different from the commercial or music video. For example, I have to memorize and say lines out loud. Whereas before, my group and I just filmed scenes, beca...

Production Blog: Reviewing The Work!

Image
Hey guys! It’s Lindsay again, and currently my group and I have not filmed since the last day of filming. I plan on having several days to film. But, for now, I am reviewing the work my group has already accomplished. This includes fixing the lighting, and making sure no scenes need to be redone. If any have to be redone, then my group mates and I will schedule that into the next filming date. So far, no scenes have to be re-filmed. I finished making the ‘poison bottle’ to be used in the final task. I planned out more of the fonts that my group and I will be using. I plan to work with them during a study hall class at school. This is where I get lots of work done. I am proud of myself for being so productive and responsible throughout this project. As well as my other projects in AICE Media Studies.  There is another tentative date to film the final task project. I think this will be where most of the main part gets filmed. Since the story mostly takes place on the beach. But...

Production Blog: Having Fun!

Image
Hey guys! It’s Lindsay again and my group and I have made good progress, filming the final task. I had so much fun going to my friend’s house. I drove there as well. My group mates drove together, and then filming took place for the rest of the afternoon. Even for my previous AICE Media Studies projects, I have had so much fun completing them. The filming process is cool in itself, and being able to do it with my group mates has been so fun. I am currently working on getting better angles. I really improved in my last project for my music video. I took the skills learnt from there, and applied it to the current filming I am doing. I also am working on making the props that my group and I plan to use. There is a ‘poison jar’ that I am crafting together. This is such an immersive experience. In my opinion, this project is really going to test my editing skills. As I am thinking about the editing of the titles, I know I will work more on CapCut, or which ever editing platform my grou...
