Reflection

This project was a great experience, with so many nuances and also brought up many new learning curves. As far as the technology goes, I learned to use CapCut. This was an amazing editing software that really allowed me to easily edit and create my commercial. Learning on this platform did not take awhile, but I definitely had to figure out all the ways I could use it. For example, how to add my song, insert photos, add captions, and more. I also learned about how to import items into the commercial, embed a video and post a video to YouTube.      When completing this project, along every step there were obstacles I faced. Some of them were technology malfunctions, and others were simply learning to use the editing software. I learned a lot about dealing with frustration throughout the process, and also knowing how to deal with this when something went wrong. I learned when I needed to start a blog to get it submitted on time, and I also taught myself better skills when it came t

Production Blog - I Made It!

Hey guys! I am so excited to finally be done with my AICE Media Studies Commercial about me! I remember back when I was assigned this project, I'll have to admit, I was not so sure of how my end product would turn out. But now that I have finally completed it, I realize that it was nothing to be scared of. In fact, I learned so much throughout the process, and this is only the beginning. Since I last posted my production blog, I have not done a huge amount of work, but I did finish it off! These final changes included adding the last video clip, as well as making transition edits. I looked at the various transitions I could add and I was amazed at how many were available! Some of them were a blur out, while others zoomed in, and some were almost like Dutch shots that were at an angle, but then straightened out to the next image. I spent a lot of time, getting the right clip of my last video. This video was from me and my friends at my summer camp. I wanted a certain part of t

Hey guys, it's Lindsay once again. My commercial has come a long way from when I started. Recently, I have put together all the clips in my software platform (CapCut), and I am working on the finishing touches. When I uploaded the photos, many of them were vertical, and fit an iPhone screen, better than a horizontal computer screen. I am still considering changing and editing the media, so it works better on a computer screen. I played around with more edits, and changed the around which part of my song I wanted to play. At first, I chose the beginning of the song New Romantics, but as I worked on it, I realized that the middle of the song would work better.      The next thing I worked on was the cover photo. I did talk about this in my last production blog, but I decided that I wanted to change the photo and fix the title. This made the cover photo match the rest of the commercial. I also considered filming an intro to my commercial, but as I continued working on it, I chang

Hey guys, It's Lindsay! Continuing further into my commercial, I have now begun piecing together the project. Before, I had edited the videos and made sure I had an organized plan for the commercial. Now, I am transferring the photos onto CapCut. I selected the final edited versions, with the clipped videos and downloaded them on my editing software. Then, I chose the duration that I wanted each piece of media to be displayed for. I am aiming for my final product to be around 30 seconds, so it is important that I choose the durations wisely. I uploaded my first video clip of my friends and I laughing together. Then, I chose a cover photo of my best friend and I in the Keys together. This really represents me, and shows a little bit of the summer I had over 2023.      I finally had all the content uploaded to CapCut. I then selected where in the commercial I wanted the media pieces, and put them all together. Then, I figured out how to lay music over the video, and select which

Hey guys, it's Lindsay! I have begun my commercial project, and have started selecting apps, and editing platforms to further enhance and create my commercial. To start, I picked out some software apps that will help assist me in making my commercial. Since I will be filming on my iPhone, I thought about using iMovie, but realized that I could take advantage of an app such as CapCut, and make more dynamic pieces. I researched various platforms, but settled on CapCut. I believe I am able to get much more quality tools out of a free software, than other ones. Once I downloaded these onto my device, I then played around with the software and made sure I was a little more comfortable with the different tools available on it.      Since I have already chosen most of the photos and clips I am using in my commercial, I made sure to check the length of the videos, and finalize my song. Since I will be using New Romantics by Taylor Swift, I chose which portion of the song I would like

Hi! It's Lindsay, and this is the process I went through, when selecting the videos, photos and other content for my commercial. I enjoy dancing, specifically ballet, and I find joy in spending time with family and hanging out with friends. The song I will include is 'New Romantics' by Taylor Swift. The reason why I chose this song to be featured in my commercial, is because I grew up listening to Taylor Swift, and she is currently one of my favorite artists. This is also one of my favorite songs by her.       The photos I am including depict images of my life, such as my family, pets, friends, hobbies and much more. One image is of me dancing at a summer camp, ballet intensive. The reason I chose this photo is because I have worked very hard to get to this achievement, and this image is a memory of a milestone in my life. This next image is of me and my best friends. Their names are Rowyn, Vivienne and Mela. They all came into my life when I needed them most, and the

Hello, I am Lindsay, and a sophomore at Fort Lauderdale High school. I enjoy quality time with my friends, and going shopping is one of my favorite activities. I spend most of my time dancing, which I really love to do. I have been dancing for 13 years, and wish to continue loving it as much as I do now. Maybe even continue dance and ballet in college. I would describe myself as creative, hard-working, loyal and kind. My interests for later in life are real estate, and psychology. I love talking to people and I find the science behind psychology quite intriguing. I also love traveling, and going to the beach. The ocean in my opinion, is one of the most beautiful places on earth. I think warmer weather is better than colder weather, and find calmness in nature. Traveling is a bug part of my life, because my parents have been taking me places since I was born. I have been to Europe once, and I really wish to go there again. I have also been to Mexico and Hawaii. I value family, frie
