Production Blog - Almost There!

Image
Hey guys! It's Lindsay once again, and this week is a very busy week for me. To start, it is homecoming week, and I will be prepping for homecoming, spirit days and Halloween. However, I still plan on meeting with my group mates this Thursday, to finish up filming the scenes. My group and I finished half of the scenes needed to film, along with editing. But, there are still a few more locations and scenes that need to be completed. Around 20 seconds of the music video is done.       I have already planned out my schedule for this week. I also contacted my group mates and made sure each individual is able to make it to the filming date. My part in the last couple days of filming was to take care of, and organize the costumes. I will still be doing that this time. I plan on wearing casual outfits to film at the coffee shop, as well as the photobook scene that is planned. So far, none of the current set scenes have changed. If there is a problem my group mates and I run into, the

Production Blog - Editing and Next Filming Date

Image
Hey guys! It's Lindsay once again, and recently my group and I have just been editing the current progress we have made on our music video. This past week, my group and I filmed at several locations. This was done over the course of two days. Once the first phase of filming was finished, each group member sent out the clips they had on each of their phones. Then, my group composed them together on CapCut. The song was put over and cut to the proper length. The chosen time stamp is about one minute into the song. Then, each clip was edited and cropped to fit the intended times for each scene. Once I looked over the clips that were taken, I realized there were some mistakes made. This may have included several people looking straight into the camera, or the angles not being quite right. However, my group mates and I were still able to find sufficient clips that worked for the music video      In regards to the next filming date, my group intends to film at Emerson's house.

Production Blog - The Commencement!

Image
Hey guys! It's Lindsay again, and my group and I have finally started filming! Yesterday, my group gathered at a restaurant to discuss our plan for the day. I brought up the work I had done on planning the outfits. I explained which outfits would go with each scene. Then, I went to one of my group mate's houses to officially begin the filming process. The car scene was one of the first locations for the music video. After spending time getting all the angles right, the car scene was finally finished. There was an over the shoulder shot and a medium-close up. I organized everyone into their correct outfits, and went to the mall afterwards. The first location was in a store. The first thing to do was request permission to film at their location. Once they granted permission, my group got to work! The camera was set up, and I made sure to angle it right, and to correctly position the tripod. After this, I reviewed the progress my group made, and I consulted with them to see w

Production Blog - Minor Setback

Hey Guys! It’s Lindsay. recently, I have been researching the genre that All The Stars is, and I have learned a few things. To start, I have gotten more familiar with the overall mood and aesthetic. This will help with what I want the music video to look like. Then, I worked on organizing the costumes. For the music video, my group mates, and I will be in specific outfits for each scene. This required planning, and organization. I first went back, and reviewed the storyboard. The next thing I did, was write down what costumes were in each scene. The storyboard did not specify a particular outfit for each scene, so I met with my group mates and discussed what they would be. After doing so, I finished up, organizing the outfits for the music video.  I was supposed to start filming with my group mates this past Tuesday. However, there was a conflict and the filming did not take place. In one of my earlier blogs, I had mentioned how I may come across obstacles. This is a perfect example of

Production Blog - Getting Ready To Film!

Hey guys! It's Lindsay again, and by this time, I finished the storyboard and have mostly planned out all the steps needed to execute a successful music video. One thing that excites me about filming this music video is the fun I will have filming it with my close peers. I also want to experience the process of filming. This has always been something I have been interested in. All the different scenes will be entertaining to move to, and figure out how to capture the best clips. I planned on starting the filming process on October 19. So far, this schedule has not changed since I posted my planning blog. I have been able to work out schedules, so this means each individual in the group will be able to film together. I do have backup plans if certain locations don't work out, and will also plan backup dates, if needed.      One thing I have learned from experience, is that you must always be ready to adapt to challenges, and be flexible. I predict I may encounter some obst

Research Blog - Music Video Conventions

Image
Hey guys! It's Lindsay again and the song genre that me and my group selected was R&B and SOUL. The conventions for this genre's music videos are ideally the same. The music videos generally feature slow or fast, emotional beats, and often feature powerful lyrics and stories. Here is the research we did on different music videos in the R&B genre: All The Stars - by Kendrick Lamar and SZA CAMS -Wide shot -Medium shot -Close-ups -Extreme close-ups -Over the shoulder shot -Eye level shot CLAMPS -Props: Ex. phones, headphones, or journals -Costume (s): Tend to be simple and usually corresponding colors. -Location(s): Old Town, empty white field with panthers, black room filled with stars SOUND -Non-Diegetic sound: the music video song -Diegetic-sound -Dialouge: usually the intro to the music video before the song starts. EDITING -Slow transitions -Reverse shot -Dim coloring I Feel it Coming - by The Weekend CAMS -Medium close up -Wide shot -Close up -Low angle -Two sho

My Group for the Music Video

Image
Hey guys, it's Lindsay. For my AICE Media Studies Music Video, I have chosen a solid, hardworking group to complete the project. My group members are some of my peers and some of my friends from school. They are Mela, Emerson, and Kemora. I am so excited to get working and I predict that this project will run quite smoothly. The reason why I chose these individuals as my group members, would be partly because of their work ethic, and also their efforts to do well academically. I was careful to select people that would get their work done, so we could all equally contribute to the finished product. I am not working with all of my best friends. From past experience, I know that this can be tricky and is not always the best game plan for an efficient project. It is best to choose wisely, and ensure that my Music Video is the best it can be. I did not wish to work by myself, because I knew that the final product could only be better with the help of other's skills, talents an

Introduction to the Music Video

Image
Hello again guys! It's Lindsay, a sophomore at Fort Lauderdale High school. I enjoy quality time with my friends, and going shopping is one of my favorite activities. I spend most of my time dancing, which I really love to do. I have been dancing for 13 years, and wish to continue loving it as much as I do now. Maybe even continue dance and ballet in college. I would describe myself as creative, hard-working, loyal and kind. My interests for later in life are real estate, and psychology. I love talking to people and I find the science behind psychology quite intriguing. I also love traveling, and going to the beach. The ocean in my opinion, is one of the most beautiful places on earth. I think warmer weather is better than colder weather, and find calmness in nature. Traveling is a bug part of my life, because my parents have been taking me places since I was born. I have been to Europe once, and I really wish to go there again. I have also been to Mexico and Hawaii. I value f
