Production Blog: Wrapping It All Up!

Image
Hey guys! I am so excited, because my group and I are just about finished with our final task. I am so proud of the work I have done, as well as my group mates. After all the filming was gathered, it was uploaded onto the editing software. From there, the clips were cut, the lighting was fixed, and the clips combined together. Then, the titles had to be added. This was a strategic step. The font and placement had to be right. Then, the reviewing started. My group mates and I reviewed the clips and found barely any mishaps. The only thing that needed to be fixed was the timing and transition between the door scene and car scene. The title had to be placed in a better spot as well. I watched the final product a couple more times after this. The editing that took place during this project was a lot more than previous projects. I am overall very proud of my group and I. The final task turned out great. I really enjoyed the experience and lessons I learned throughout this project. This fin

Production Blog: Finishing Up Filming!

Hey guys! It's Lindsay and I have made even more progress on my group and I's final task. Filming had already took place at Mela's house, the car and the store. In the store, the scene where the main character selects an item off the shelf was filmed. Just today, my group and I filmed the last bit of the scenes. At the restaurant. As well as at the beach. At the restaurant, it took several tries to get the perfect clip. Many times some of the cast members forgot lines. Other times, it just needed to be filmed once more. The most difficult part this time around was definitely trying to not laugh during the scenes, or remembering all the correct lines. This process did get better from the first time my group and I filmed. One thing I have realized since working on this specific project is that being in this film is very different from the commercial or music video. For example, I have to memorize and say lines out loud. Whereas before, my group and I just filmed scenes, beca

Production Blog: Reviewing The Work!

Image
Hey guys! It’s Lindsay again, and currently my group and I have not filmed since the last day of filming. I plan on having several days to film. But, for now, I am reviewing the work my group has already accomplished. This includes fixing the lighting, and making sure no scenes need to be redone. If any have to be redone, then my group mates and I will schedule that into the next filming date. So far, no scenes have to be re-filmed. I finished making the ‘poison bottle’ to be used in the final task. I planned out more of the fonts that my group and I will be using. I plan to work with them during a study hall class at school. This is where I get lots of work done. I am proud of myself for being so productive and responsible throughout this project. As well as my other projects in AICE Media Studies.  There is another tentative date to film the final task project. I think this will be where most of the main part gets filmed. Since the story mostly takes place on the beach. But, because

Production Blog: Having Fun!

Hey guys! It’s Lindsay again and my group and I have made good progress, filming the final task. I had so much fun going to my friend’s house. I drove there as well. My group mates drove together, and then filming took place for the rest of the afternoon. Even for my previous AICE Media Studies projects, I have had so much fun completing them. The filming process is cool in itself, and being able to do it with my group mates has been so fun. I am currently working on getting better angles. I really improved in my last project for my music video. I took the skills learnt from there, and applied it to the current filming I am doing. I also am working on making the props that my group and I plan to use. There is a ‘poison jar’ that I am crafting together. This is such an immersive experience. In my opinion, this project is really going to test my editing skills. As I am thinking about the editing of the titles, I know I will work more on CapCut, or which ever editing platform my group an

Production Blog: We Have Begun Filming!

Image
Hey guys! As you all know, I was struggling to find a date where all my group mates and I were available to film. But, we have found a date and will start filming soon! I have planned out who everyone is driving with. I am driving myself. Mela and Emerson are driving together. I love driving, because it gives me so much more freedom, and makes it easier on my parents to do things like filming a school project. I can just go do it after school. It is less of a hassle and more fun! I have collaborated with my other friends from school, to see if they would be in my final task. I have gathered my friend Rowyn. But for this first filming date, she will not be there. I am going to Mela’s house after school to film certain scenes. These scenes are in the car and the day time scenes. My group and I still need to figure out when all of us are able to film the night scenes. I am so excited to film! I love going to the beach. I am also filming at a restaurant, but that will not be today. When

Production Blog: Obstacles

Hey guys! It’s Lindsay and I’m back to update you on my group and I’s progress on the final task. It was going smoothly in the beginning, but my group and I did hit an obstacle. I could not figure out a good date for a film day. My group mates and I are in separate class periods, so sometimes it is difficult to plan out dates, face-to-face. However, I am figuring out a day that works. I am excited to film at the beach. I plan on driving myself and my group to the beach. Maybe Emerson will drive some of us. We will start filming very soon! I have been thinking more about the costumes that my group and I will be using for the final task project. Recently, I have been working on essays for AICE Media Studies AS level, and have used the information about movies and production companies. For example, I learned after my case studies, about synergy and cross media convergence, and promotion. All these topics are extremely interesting. If my group and I were a real production company, it woul

Hey guys! It’s Lindsay and I am back again, updating you guys on how the final task is progressing. My group mates and I have selected who will be in the short film. The main stars are simply my group mates and I. Emerson, Mela and me. Then, we have asked someone from our school to film as well. Her name is Rowyn. She will act as the server at the restaurant. My group mates and I sketched out the scenes, in addition to the storyboard. This way, the sketches will be more detailed than the storyboard. For example, the outfits and environment in each scene can be shown in close detail. This allows for a smoother, easier filming time. I think my group and I will start filming this weekend. Or at least next week. It is still hard when everyone is busy. However, everyone has been able to fit it into their schedule. This is going to be a very fun final task. I think that it will be important to be flexible, for the locations could give us issues. This is why my group and I have worked out ba

Production Blog: Getting Started!

Hey guys! It’s Lindsay, and I am back with my group mates, starting the Final Task project. I am very excited for this. The Super Bowl was last Sunday. I have started planning out when I am available, and have asked my group mates when they are able to film. I have thought some more about costumes and the outfits my group mates and I will be wearing. Trying to figure out dates is a struggle. But, we are finding days where we can film. So far, I have reviewed the storyboard and also planned for which order my group and I should film them in. Some scenes are better to film on the weekend, because they are night scenes. But, not everyone is free on the same weekend. The day scenes already easier, because they can be filmed on weekdays and school nights. There have been tentative dates planned, to film the beach scenes. For now, I will continue to plan out the outfits and props that we can use. My group mates and I are also recruiting additional individuals to be in the film. They could
